Ms. West Indies

The Miss West Indies Pageant is in its sixth year. It is an event that brings the Caribbean Community out at Penn State. It is a day of exposure for the Caribbean. We showcase our different diversities and cultures around the Caribbean. We come together to celebrate and experience a dazzling fusion of colors, creativity, music, masquerades and incredible art. Each female represents her island that evening. This pageant teaches the Penn State community about our vast West Indian culture that ranges from island to island while exemplifying that we are still one. Many individuals think that all islands are the same, but each island has its own wonder and culture. We allow them to enter our West Indian World through fashion, talent, intellect, music and beauty. We want them to leave gaining an understanding and respect for our culture and the beauty that each individual island has.
